DAILY TRANSFER FROM SORRENTO TO POMPEII RUINS AND NAPLES

Your tour will start from Sorrento where a bus will pick you up and transport you to the ancient city of Pompeii buried by the Vesuvius eruption of 79 AD. The archaeological site is famous the world over as it provides an extraordinary example of ancient Roman life. Pompeii was properly rediscovered in 1738 by workmen digging for the foundations of a summer palace for the King of Naples, Charles of Bourbon.
It was rediscovered as the result of intentional excavations in 1748 by the Spanish military engineer Rocque Joaquin de Alcubierre. These towns have since been excavated to reveal many intact buildings and wall paintings. Charles of Bourbon took great interest in the findings even after becoming the King of Spain as the display of antiquities reinforced the political and cultural power of Naples.
After your visit to the Pompeii ruins, the bus picks up you and transfer you to the city of Naples, where you will have time to see the sights and explore the city before returning back to Sorrento.
